Abstract
Background: Infantile Myofibromatosis is an uncommon non-metastatic tumor that can cause intussusception and intestinal obstruction in young children. This process is generally diagnosed at the time of surgery rather than preoperatively.Case Report: We present the case of a 10-week old female with intussusception secondary to the multicentric form of infantile myofibromatosis. The patient was treated with an operative resection of the tumor. Follow-up surveillance diagnostic studies have not revealed any recurrence of the tumor. Conclusions: Infantile Myofibromatosis is a rare cause of bowel obstruction and should be considered in the differential diagnosis of children with intussusception.
