Abstract
Background: Hairy polyps which contain elements of ectoderm and mesoderm are rare cases that can occur anywhere in the body. Although they are rarely seen in the pharynx, they are the most common congenital nasopharyngeal masses.
Case Report: Intermittent airway obstruction and feeding difficulties are the main symptoms the patients suffer from. We represent a 3 months old baby girl having a hairy polyp arising from the left palatopharyngeal fold and soft palate junction with symptoms of respiratory difficulties, whom underwent surgery and recovered from her complaints after.
Conclusions: We discuss the clinicopathological features, etiology, terminology, differential diagnosis, and modality of the treatment of this condition.
