Abstract
Background: Viral pericarditis are the most common infection of the pericardium. Attacks of enteroviral pericarditis follow the seasonal epidemics of Coxsackie Virus A and B and Echovirus infections. Pericardial haemorrhagic effusion with cardiac tamponade is a possible manifestation of viral pericardial infection.
Case Report: We describe a case of hemorrhagic pericardial tamponade effusion in young woman due to Coxsackie Virus infection that required the drenage.
Conclusions: Cardiac haemorragic tamponade effusion is a consequence of viral pericarditis. This condition is infrequent and the supposed diagnosis was performed only after laboratory tests, that should always achieved in presence of pericardial effusion.
