Background: Intestinal obstruction is a rare but serious complication of pregnancy. Delay in the diagnosis will lead to signifi cant maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. There have been very few case reports of meckel’s diverticulum as cause of intestinal obstruction in pregnancy presented with peritonitis.
Case Report: We report a rare case of meckel’s diverticulum as a cause of intestinal obstruction in third trimester of pregnancy which was diagnosed and treated before bowel perforation. We will discuss the diagnostic and treatment options.
Conclusions: A high index of clinical suspicion can lead to earlier diagnosis and help to keep maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality to a minimum.
