Background: Tinnitus and sensory neural hearing loss (SNHL) following either general or spinal anesthesia
have been described but little appreciated.
Case Report: Unilateral tinnitus and SNHL occurred after combined spinal anesthesia (CSE) performed even
with the thinnest spinal needle (27 G Whitacre) was presented.
Conclusions: Whatever the reason of tinnitus or hearing loss following anesthesia, this complication should
be cautioned especially in susceptible patients.
